How to book Qsuites with points

People pay almost $10,000 for this seat. You can book it for as low as 55,000 credit card points. Six steps, in order, because the order is the whole trick.

Step 1: Make your accounts today

You need a free Qatar Airways Privilege Club account and a free British Airways Club account. Tap these to make them:

Join Qatar Privilege Club Join British Airways Club

Why two airlines? British Airways and Qatar are homies. They use the same exact currency, called Avios.

Do this today, even if you’re not booking today. Qatar won’t link a new account to British Airways for 30 days, and British Airways won’t send Avios out of a new account for 30 days.

Step 2: Search on Qatar’s site

Go to qatarairways.com and tick Book using Avios. For From, use whichever airport is closest to you. For To, go wherever you want (here’s every city).

Qatar's search box with Book using Avios ticked

Pick a random date, the farther out the better, and hit Search flights.

Step 3: Find the Available dates

More than likely your first search is either way too expensive or there’s nothing at all. That’s normal, so don’t quit yet. Click the little calendar icon to see more dates.

Qatar's results page with the calendar icon highlighted

Look for the ones that say Available in the green text. Those are the ones we want.

Qatar's calendar with the Available dates in green circled

Click one. Here’s my example: JFK to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) for 95,000 Avios.

A Qatar flight from JFK to SGN for 95,000 Avios in business class

Open Flight details and make sure it’s Qsuite, because not every flight has it.

Step 4: Go to your bank’s site

Find your flight first. Don’t move a single point until you’ve seen the seat. Transfers are one way and you can’t get them back.

You can do this step with any bank that transfers points: Chase, Amex, Capital One, Bilt or Citi. Send your points to British Airways, or straight to Qatar Privilege Club if your bank has it. On Chase, go to Travel, then Transfer to partners, then British Airways. Points move in chunks of 1,000.

Chase's transfer partners with British Airways showing a 30% bonus

Right now, the 30% bonus is only with Chase. It runs through December 1, 2026, so 74,000 Chase points turns into 96,200 Avios. That covers a 95,000 Avios flight. With any other bank it’s 1 to 1, so that same flight takes 95,000 points.

Most transfers land by the next business day, but Chase says it can take up to 7. Nobody’s holding your seat while you wait, so don’t sit on it.

Step 5: Link your accounts and combine your Avios

Anybody can do this, whatever bank you used. Sign in to Privilege Club on Qatar’s site and link your British Airways Club account. Then combine your Avios, which moves them over to your Qatar account. It’s free and they move right away.

Link your accounts on Qatar’s site

Qatar's page: Link your accounts, Combine your Avios, Spend your Avios

Your name and date of birth have to match on both accounts, and both accounts have to be 30 days old. That’s why step 1 was step 1. If your bank sent your points straight to Qatar, you can skip this step.

Step 6: Book it

Once the Avios is in your Qatar account, go back to your flight and pay with Avios.

You’ll still pay taxes and fees in cash, usually a couple hundred bucks each way from the US. Qatar shows you the real number on the payment screen.

Booking for somebody else? They have to be on your My List in Privilege Club, and your account has to be at least 30 days old.

The math

This is what I found when I searched. Prices move with the date, so go by what the site shows you.

One way in business classAviosChase points
JFK to Doha70,00055,000
JFK to Ho Chi Minh City95,00074,000

Chase points include the 30% bonus through December 1, 2026. After that it’s 1 to 1 unless Chase runs another one.

Every city Qatar flies to

All 170 of them, outside the US and Canada, with a connection in Doha. Put any of these in the To box. Not every one has Qsuites on every flight, so check Flight details before you move your points.

Checked November 5, 2026. Routes change, so if a city doesn’t come up on Qatar’s site, it’s not flying right now. Some of these are places your government tells you not to go, so check that too.
