Premium credit cards don’t pay you back in one big check. They pay in dozens of small credits: Uber Cash every month, a hotel credit twice a year, a dining credit that resets on the 1st. Each one has its own rules and its own expiration date, and it’s easy to lose hundreds of dollars a year to credits you forgot about.

How we make money
The site and the app are free to use. We may earn a commission when someone is approved for a card through some of our links, or a referral bonus from a bank. That never changes which cards we list or what we say about them: every card in our catalog gets the same page, whether or not we earn anything from it.
