Venture vs Venture X

By Quy Dinh · Updated Oct 24, 2026

The short answer

The Venture X for most people who travel: it costs $300 more, but its $300 travel credit and 10,000 anniversary miles give that back, and it adds lounge access and 10x on Capital One Travel hotels. The Venture is better if you won’t book through Capital One Travel; its $100 stays credit still nearly covers its $95 fee.

Both earn 2x on everything and share the same 22 transfer partners. A Venture X bonus in the last 48 months also blocks the Venture bonus.

Pick the Venture if

  • You won’t book through Capital One Travel
  • You don’t need lounges
  • You want the lower fee

Pick the Venture X if

  • You’ll book $300 a year through Capital One Travel
  • You want Capital One Lounges and Priority Pass
  • You fly at least a few times a year
