Delta SkyMiles Platinum vs Delta SkyMiles Reserve

By Quy Dinh · Updated Oct 25, 2026

The short answer

The Reserve is the Delta card with Sky Club access: 15 visits a year plus Centurion Lounges on Delta days, and its companion ticket can be used up to First Class. If you’d use the lounges on most trips, that’s what the extra $300 buys.

Otherwise the Platinum gives you the same free bags and $2,500 Medallion head start, a Delta Main companion ticket and 3x on hotels, for $350.

Pick the Delta SkyMiles Platinum if

  • You don’t need Sky Club access
  • A Delta Main companion ticket is enough
  • You pay for hotels directly a lot

Pick the Delta SkyMiles Reserve if

  • You’d visit Sky Clubs on most trips
  • You want a companion ticket up to First Class
  • You fly Delta often
