How it works
Each calendar month, Lyft puts a $10 ride credit in the Lyft account of the person on your card account who added the card to Lyft first.
It comes off the ride subtotal automatically when that card pays for an eligible ride. You can choose to remove it from a ride.
Unused credit expires at the end of the month. The credit runs through September 30, 2027.
What it looks like when it works
- A lower ride price in the Lyft app, with the $10 credit applied to the ride.
- No credit line on your Chase statement. The Lyft charge posts for what's left after the credit.
How long it takes
The $10 is added to your Lyft account at the start of each month and comes off an eligible ride at payment.
Why it didn’t post
Add your Sapphire Reserve in Lyft's Payment section and make it the default. Rides paid through Apple Pay, Google Pay, another digital wallet or PayPal don't get the credit.
Only one $10 credit per card account each month, and it goes to whoever added the card to Lyft first, you or an authorized user. To move it, that person removes the card and the other person adds it. The credit starts in the new account at the beginning of the next month.
The credit only works on Standard, Extra Comfort, XL, Black and Black SUV rides. Wait & Save, bike and scooter rides don't get it.
The credit isn't applied automatically on a Business Profile ride. Request the ride on your personal profile.
The Chase credit can't be combined with other Lyft credits or discounts, and it won't apply if Lyft Cash or a Lyft gift card paid any part of the ride.
You get one $10 credit a month, and unused credit is lost at the end of the month. A new one arrives at the start of next month.
The credit may not work on rides outside the U.S., U.S. territories and Canada.
What doesn’t count
- Fees, taxes and tips (the credit covers the ride subtotal only)
- Wait & Save rides
- Bike and scooter rides
- Gift card purchases, car rentals, vehicle service centers and other Lyft fees
- Rides paid with a digital wallet, PayPal, Lyft Cash or a Lyft gift card
- Rides on a Lyft Business Profile
- Rides outside the U.S., U.S. territories and Canada
Still missing? Do this
- In the Lyft app, check that your Sapphire Reserve is added as a card and set as the default payment.
- Ask anyone else on your card account whether they added the card to their Lyft account first.
- Pick an eligible ride type (Standard, Extra Comfort, XL, Black or Black SUV) on your personal profile, with no other promo applied.
- Check the ride's price in the app before you confirm. The credit should show as applied.
- Still not applying? Contact Lyft support in the app, then call the number on the back of your card if needed.
Cards with this credit
- Chase Sapphire Reserve Chase
- Chase Sapphire Reserve Business Chase
Same $10 a month and the same rules. An employee card counts as an authorized user, so whoever on the account adds a card to Lyft first gets the credit.
Questions people ask
Is it a statement credit?
No. Lyft takes it off the ride in the app, so nothing extra posts on your Chase statement.
Does unused credit roll over?
No. Each month's $10 expires at the end of that month.
Can my partner on my account use the credit instead of me?
Yes, but only one person gets it. Remove the card from your Lyft account and have them add it to theirs. The credit moves at the start of the next month; credits already given can't be moved.
How long does the Lyft credit last?
Through September 30, 2027.
Check a whole statement at once. Premium Finance, our free app, reads the statement PDF or CSV you download from your bank (on your phone, nothing is uploaded) and shows which credits posted, then reminds you before the rest run out. Open the app or try it with a sample wallet.
