Amex digital entertainment credit not posting

The Platinum's up to $25 a month only covers subscriptions billed directly by eight partners. Here's why yours didn't post and how to fix it.

By Quy Dinh · Checked Oct 25, 2026

How it works

Enroll first. Then the Platinum pays back up to $25 a month, up to $300 a year, on subscriptions bought directly from Disney+, ESPN streaming, Hulu, The New York Times, Paramount+, Peacock, The Wall Street Journal and YouTube (Premium, Music and YouTube TV).

It's a statement credit after the charge. The $25 resets each calendar month, and unused amounts don't carry over.

Charges on additional cards count, but the account gets $25 a month in total.

What it looks like when it works

  • The subscription charge from the partner, then a separate statement credit from Amex for up to $25.
  • If two subscriptions bill in the same month, you may see two credits that together come to no more than $25.

How long it takes

Usually within a few days of the charge. Amex allows up to 8 weeks.

Why it didn’t post

1. You haven't enrolled

Enrollment is required. Enroll in the Benefits section of your Amex account or by phone. Only the main cardholder or an account manager can enroll.

2. You're billed through an app store or another company

Subscriptions paid through an app store, a TV device, a cable or phone company, or any other third party don't count. Subscribe on the partner's own website and pay with your card.

3. Your Platinum isn't the card on file

If you were already a subscriber, change the payment method to your Platinum. After a replacement card, update the card number with the partner.

4. It's a Peacock bundle or add-on

Only standalone Peacock plans bought from Peacock count, such as Premium, Premium Plus and Select. Bundles and add-ons don't, even when Peacock sells them.

5. The partner's purchase is excluded

Gift cards, ads, events, merchandise, the New York Times store, WSJ Wine and similar purchases don't count. Only the subscriptions listed in the terms do.

6. You paid with a wallet like PayPal

Purchases made with a digital wallet may not be credited. Put the card itself on file with the partner.

7. Your $25 for the month is used

The limit is per account each month. A yearly plan or two subscriptions in one month still get at most $25 that month.

8. The charge was dated in the next month

Amex uses the date the partner processes the charge. A charge made on the last day of a month can count toward the next month.

What doesn’t count

  • Subscriptions billed through an app store, TV device, cable or phone company, or other third party
  • Peacock bundles and add-on subscriptions
  • Gift cards, including prepaid cards bought elsewhere for these services
  • Advertising, events and merchandise from the partners
  • New York Times store purchases, NYT conferences and TimesDigest
  • WSJ Wine, WSJ events, WSJ merchandise and the WSJ Online Store
  • Purchases outside the U.S.

Still missing? Do this

  1. Check the Benefits section of your Amex account to confirm you're enrolled.
  2. Sign in on the partner's own website and confirm you're billed there, to your current Platinum card number.
  3. Wait a few days after the charge posts. Amex allows up to 8 weeks.
  4. If nothing after 8 weeks, call the number on the back of your card or chat with Amex. Name the Digital Entertainment Credit and give the charge date and amount.
